ADR Automatic Management Systems: Innovation on the Cutting Edge
During the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of ADR, President Flavio Radrizzani emphasized that the company’s current global leadership in the sector has been achieved through continuous investment in research and development. These investments aim to enhance both the quality and reliability standards of their products while also developing innovative and exclusive technical solutions. This approach has allowed ADR to position itself as a reliable technological partner for agricultural trailer manufacturers, a role reinforced at Eima 2024 through the introduction of new mechanical and digital solutions. The latter are designed to make the management of trailers—especially multi-axle models—easier and more intuitive.
Key among these innovations are the "Easy Drive," "SmartDrive," and "Smart Tronic" systems, which control the steering axles of a trailer in either semi-automatic or fully automatic modes, always with the goal of simplifying maneuvers, preserving soil, and minimizing tire wear. The "Easy Drive" system allows for self-steering axles when driving forward, with the option for manual steering in reverse via the tractor’s hydraulic distributor. This provides easy maneuvering in tight spaces while ensuring maximum stability at high speeds. The "SmartDrive" system, which is more sophisticated, uses a central unit connected to specific sensors to control the steering cylinders of the trailer, ensuring it follows the tractor optimally during forward movement. The system also automatically locks the steering axles when the speed exceeds a pre-set threshold.
In reverse, the system adjusts the steering angles of the trailer wheels automatically to improve maneuverability. Manual control remains possible via a digital interface in the cabin, which allows the operator to lock the steering axles in a neutral position. The most advanced system, "Smart Tronic," eliminates mechanical connections unrelated to traction requirements, optimizing machine downtime when switching trailers.
Spare Parts Accessible via a Dedicated Platform
ADR has also pursued the goal of reducing machine downtime by developing a spare parts platform that allows quick and accurate access to the company’s catalog. This system enables users to swiftly identify the specific parts needed for maintenance or repair of each axle. The platform also facilitates ordering these parts, provided in pre-packaged kits, which not only contain the ordered part but also related components to avoid incomplete interventions.
In addition, ADR has been actively working for years on developing maintenance-free solutions, understanding that the growing industrialization of agriculture will increasingly require continuous, full-time operations, especially in logistics. This can only be achieved by minimizing or eliminating maintenance downtime.
