ADR: A 70-Year Journey with the Scent of Iron and Coffee
ADR, a company based in Uboldo, Varese, specializing in the sale of axles and suspensions, was founded in 1954 by Giovanni Radrizzani and Antonietta Airoldi, and is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The milestone has been celebrated with a series of events, including one recently held at the Garden Toscana Resort, where employees from the various countries hosting the 15 ADR Group companies gathered.
Seventy Years of History
In 1954, ADR was a family business located in the town center of Uboldo, in a 50-square-meter garage. Its first products were brass-capped pipettes for gas stoves. Giovanni Radrizzani and Antonietta Airoldi's passion led the company to grow and develop. The family business quickly involved their children, Flavio and Giancarlo, who helped their parents from a young age.
In 1977, the company changed its name from "Giovanni Radrizzani e Figli" to ADR s.n.c. ("Assali, Dischi, Radrizzani") and began producing and selling axles for agricultural machinery, expanding its customer base and increasing the number of employees. From the 1980s onward, ADR started to expand across Europe and the world, and today the group has numerous locations in Europe, America, and Asia.
The Scent of Iron and Coffee
The 70th anniversary of ADR was also celebrated with the book "Profumo di Ferro e Caffè," published by Nomos Edizioni and written by Chiara Rosa Cavelli. The book tells the story of ADR and its employees, with the company's journey from its origins to the present reconstructed through the testimonies and stories of President Flavio Radrizzani, the management team, and current and former collaborators of the ADR Group.
The book was presented on Saturday, September 14, 2024, during a gala dinner at the Garden Toscana Resort, following a day of team-building activities with employees from all over the world.
"Seventy years of ADR is a great milestone and a great satisfaction," said Flavio Radrizzani, President of the Group. "Over the years, thousands of people have passed through ADR, each contributing to the growth and global success of the company. Our heartfelt thanks go to all, especially to those whose memories have helped us share this adventure in 'Profumo di Ferro e Caffè.'"
