The beginning -1954/1970
It was 1954. World War II was over and reconstruction was taking place at full speed all over the world. The United States were celebrating it by launching “Nautilus”, while Russia was opening the first civil nuclear power station. Italy was also in a state of excitement. The first television transmissions were starting, the mountaineers Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli were conquering K2 and the Italian flag returned to wave over the city of Trieste. It was a year of great dynamism and the desire to rebuild the country. It was the same eagerness which, in Uboldo, Varese, urged Giovanni Radrizzani and his wife Antonia to open a jobbing workshop called Radrizzani Giovanni. The venture was such an immediate success that in the early 1960s it was necessary to expand the company which at the time specialised in the production of wheel discs. The production of agricultural axles also began, when son Giancarlo joined the company. At the beginning of the 1970s, with the joining of second son Flavio, the first export operations to Central Western European countries began.

Recent history  - 1970/2000
From that moment on, export became an ever more important element for the company and at the beginning of the 1980s they decided to separate the production process by assigning wheel disc manufacturing to new company, ITALRUOTE. The production of axles remained at Radrizzani Giovanni and Sons Snc, under the new name of ADR Spa. In the 1990s, ADR, always working towards quality, expanded their presence by introducing their product to the international market which led to them acquiring the French company COLAERT ESSIEUX, European leader in the manufacturing of axles and complete suspensions for agricultural and industrial machines. COLAERT products were sold on to the Anglo-Saxon countries by the English company TYREMART, which subsequently became part of the group. In the same period, ITALRUOTE relocated to Friuli and was taken over by the local CLM. In 1996, ATW was born, a Polish company which supplied components for the sister companies and complete, agricultural and road axles but it also was the foundation for the planned future expansion into the emerging markets in Central Eastern Europe and the Republics of the former Soviet Union.

The new century
The new millennium has seen the ADR Group engaged in strengthening themselves. Great industrial investments have been approved and construction of new premises to host the future operations for all the companies has begun. Unfortunately, we have seen the sudden and premature loss of Giancarlo Radrizzani, which was to promote a sense of belonging to the group amongst employees and was to lead them to react in a united and constructive manner, intensifying the efforts and investments towards further internationalisation. Financial and organisational restructuring has begun with the creation of the RPF holding and the Asian and South American expansion has also begun through the creation of joint-ventures in China and Brazil which are aimed at introducing ADR products to the local markets.

The future
The ADR-RPF Group’s medium-term development predictions are clear and precise. The entry of the third generation into the company and the important investments made up until now will allow a greater presence on the known international markets and the commercial expansion to Eastern Europe, North and South America and Asia, in particular, China. The product range, although designed for the agricultural sector, incorporates, however, remarkable technical features; the company strategy is aimed at further developing technology in order to enter, with even more success, commercial sectors such as that of road transport, port and airport handling, earth moving and defence.
