Control systems for steering axles

Different equipment levels are available to meet both technical and economic needs of our users.

Direct-drive manual control system

The adjustment unit is located on the trailer and is enabled by the pedestrian operator. STB and STJ hydraulic control steering systems are provided with manual control. This unit fits also the previous STC systems.

1st level: control module including ball taps, accumulators and pressure gauges. Separate feed and adjustment of the 2 feeding ways of the steering axle. This device must be fed by the tractor.

2nd level: 1st level control module + hand pump to feed the system and tank.

Smart electronic control system

It is an hydraulic electronic system controlling steering of multi-axled trailers independently for each axle. Actually, it can identify the ideal path for each axle, thus achieving the utmost handling qualities of the vehicle with the minimum energy waste, ensuring longer life for tyres and lower fuel consumption for the trailer. The ideal path planning is carried out on the vehicle, which is provided with the “fail-safe” safety system. In case of hydraulic or electric failure within the system, it puts the steering system into safety conditions avoiding spontaneous and uncontrollable movements.

Easy realignment device for self-steering axles

It is particularly suitable for large trailers using low pressure tyres, which usually have a slow realignment and may cause road safety problems. The easy realignment device is added to the control circuit of the self-steering locking cylinder. It is automatically enabled, when the steering is released, and disabled, when it is locked.
